The Missing Angle!

RCB fans! Do you really think RCB is out? I believe 90% of fans are disheartened however optimism is the ultimate hope , I say still there is a RAY of hope which will make them qualify to the playoffs. Fingers Crossed!!

The Missing Angle from Analysis!

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are going through one of their worst runs in the Indian Premier League, with only 2 wins, 7 loses and 1 washed out match, with a total of 5 points in their 10 games. They currently are towards the bottom of the points table at the 7th position after DD who are lying at the last position.

RCB is known for their powerful batting line up with massive players like Virat "Run Machine" Kohli, AB De "360°" Villiers, The Universe Boss - Christopher Henry Gayle, KL Rahul (Who unfortunately is ruled out this season due to a shoulder injury), Shane Watson and Kedar Jadhav. But, this massive team with such a great batting line up has disappointed almost every time they stepped out on the field.

The batting has not delivered for RCB, and that was clearly seen when they were bowled out of 49 against Gautam Gambhir's KKR while chasing a small target like 132.
How can Royal Challengers Bangalore qualify for the playoffs?
2 possible scenarios for the knockout stages!
Scenario 1:
This time RCB are mainly dependent on other results to qualify for the playoffs.
Here is how RCB can progress:-
1. The must win all their remaining four games against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils.
2. Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have to win all their games against Rising Pune Supergiants, Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils and Gujarat Lions.
3. Rising Pune Supergiants must win only 1 game out of their 5 matches.
4. Gujarat Lions must win a max of 3 games in their remaining 5 matches.
5. Kings XI Punjab must win a max of 2 matches in their remaining 5 matches.
6. Delhi Daredevils must win a max of 4 games out of their remaining 6 matches.
Scenario 2:
Provided that RCB win both their games against Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils, and lose one against either of MI/KKR, they will finish at 11 points. Qualifying now is even tougher. For them to qualify, Rising Pune Supergiants must lose all their matches, Delhi must lose 3 out of 6 matches, Gujarat Lions must lose atleast 3 out of their 6 games and Kings XI Punjab must lose 4 out of their remaining 5 games!
The chances of qualifying for the playoffs are very slim but it is not impossible. RCB are dependent a lot of the table toppers - MI, KKR and SRH to win all their matches against DD, GL, RPS and KXIP.
Best wishes to Virat and Team!
Cheers,
Sparsh
