RCB's Misfortune

We all are disappointed with RCB's poor performance this season in the Indian Premier League. Everybody expected the team to perform well this season, especially when the world’s best players forming the team, however, It could not happen! Did luck not favour? May be yes! Did talent lack the will? May be YES!
Had it been overconfidence followed by ill preparations whatever! NOT delivered is NOT delivered, end results matter, they failed this time.
Until last season, they had a star studded batting lineup that included big players like Virat, ABD, Gayle, Watson, KL Rahul and Jadhav however, their main problem was their BOWLING then.
This season they went ahead and tried to fill the gap – Yes, a mix and match, let’s go pull the bowlers now, pay for them and get it.
Action begins - IPL Auction held - RCB bought their bowlers and the bowling all-rounders like Tymal Mills, Pawan Negi, Aniket Choudhary, Billy Stanlake and Praveen Dubey, made them a part of their squad. Well prepared now. Good isn’t it?
The weakness or say lessons learnt from last stride was covered, balance was made! We were all ready to blast, rather, RCB fans were ready to watch their team blast other teams.
Still underperformance in overall.1, 2, 3... No!! All matches.

Reasons, Lets analyze:
 1. The Chinnaswamy Pitch became slow and difficult for batsman to find their timing. (I know was same with others though, but is a reason so covered)
2. RCB suffered from a number of injuries throughout the tournament. Big reason, initial matches got hit due to this factor and foundation had a limp.
RCB went into the tournament knowing that their batting has delivered at home but with the 22 yards changing so drastically, the batsman could not find their rhythm. (I know was same with other teams as well though, but is a reason again so covered)
Injuries, injuries and injuries bothered RCB, In the absence of KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan stability got jeopardised, in the batting order, and their batting line up became weak, became even more worse when Virat and AB could not play the few matches of the season (jump start missed), plus Gayle and Watson were out of form, so overall runs couldn’t beautify the scoreboard.
Virat returned from the injury, but it does take time for the shoulder to start functioning properly, so without shoulder in full support, he could not shoulder up the responsibility, other batsman’s out of form added further to it.
Hope should never die! So we shall look forward for the next IPL season for RCB, this time lets wish, the best performer wins.

Cheers,
Sparsh

  1. Whole team is out of form, or may be not willing to give their best!
This may be result of over confidence...

  2. I think they are not willing too give their best. Gayle got 77 only because he wanted to reach the milestone of 10000 T20 runs. Maybe he plays only when he wants to. Anyway, with batsmen out of form, you can't expect a team to win. But RCB, better luck next time. For now, May the best win.
