Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels return for Windies ODI Squad

Universe Boss - Christopher Henry Gayle is all set to make a comeback to Windies ODI Team after a 30 month lay-off.

Gayle along with Marlon Samuels has been recalled to the side to resurrect Windies' downfall in International Cricket.

Gayle last appeared in an ODI for Windies in the Cricket World Cup 2015 during their loss in the quarter final against New Zealand, where he scored 61.
In the same tournament he scored a record breaking 215 against Ireland as well.

Samuels refused a retainer from the board last year and was dropped for deciding to play in the Pakistan Super League rather than the Caribbean Super 50 competition.

"With regards to the selection of the ODI squad, the panel welcomes back Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels -- who will both add value to our batting and help with the nurturing of the young batsmen in the team," said the chairman of selectors - Courtney Browne.

Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo and Darren Bravo, all of them are unavailable for the 5 Match ODI Series against England.
“Both Sunil Narine and Darren Bravo have declined to be considered for ODIs in England. Narine has however confirmed his desire to play 50-over cricket again but has asked to play in our Regional Super 50 before he is considered and Darren said he was not available for selection.

Dwayne Bravo said he is still not 100 percent fit, but is looking at a possible return to international cricket next year.” said Courtney Browne.

Gayle who turns 38 next month, has scored 9,221 runs for Windies in the 264 innings he has played and averages 37.33, whereas Marlon Samuels has scored 5,180 in 177 averaging 34.30

The Windies fans will have some hope from their team after the return of these two very experienced and great players.

Windies will take on Ireland on September 13 in Belfast for the one-off ODI before they tour England for the 5 Match ODI Series.
