3 players Delhi Dardevils are expected to retain for IPL 2018

The Delhi Daredevils (DD) haven't been able to qualify for the playoffs since 2012. They have made it to the semi-finals only thrice, and have never made it to the finals. With the auction coming up early next year, Delhi would closely assess which player would be beneficial to retain and which players are they in need of.

Here is the young blood which Delhi would be looking to retain for the next edition of the IPL:

1. Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada is showing the world that he can replace Dale Steyn as the leader of South Africa's fast bowling department. He is one of the world's fastest bowler, clocking regular speeds of over 85 mph.

He made his debut for DD last year, but unfortunately he did not get many opportunities to showcase his talent for his team, playing just 6 games.

He has taken 22 wickets in 16 T20I matches, at an impressive strike rate of 16.45. Delhi for sure would not want to let go of this youngster.

2. Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock missed out on the last season of the IPL due to an injury, but given his form in international cricket, the Delhi Daredevils would be keen on holding on to him.

In 2016, the Proteas opener had scored an impressive 445 runs for the Delhi Daredevils, at an average around 37 and a decent strike rate above 137.

3. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant came into the limelight after his performance in the U-19 World Cup. The aggressive wicket-keeper batsman was drafted into the Delhi Daredevils' squad for Rs. 1.9 crores in 2016.

Playing just his third IPL match, he scored a fantastic 69 off just 40 balls, helping DD to a victory over the Gujrat Lions. In 2017, he shattered Gujrat Lions' bowling attack once more, by scoring a breathtaking 97 off 43. He ended the tournament with an impressive 366 runs.

DD should not let go of Pant, especially after having invested such a large sum of money on this promising 20 year old.

Cheers,
Sparsh
