3 Players Mumbai Indians are expected to retain for IPL 2018

The defending champions - Mumbai Indians have developed a very well balanced side which they would prefer to keep intact and build a strong team around.

With a maximum of 3 retentions allowed, I guess that the Mumbai Indians (MI) will use all of their retentions, and keep 2 Right To Match (RTM) cards available at the auction.
Here are the three players I feel that MI shall retain for the 2018 season:

1. Rohit Sharma

He led the Mumbai Indians to three titles since 2013. He also is the highest run scorer for his team, and the third highest run scorer in the history of the IPL.

Admittedly, he had a mediocre 2017 IPL run, but Mumbai Indians would not want to let go of the man who led them to 3 titles, and therefore, the team shall nonetheless consider him as their first retention.

2. Jasprit Bumrah

One of the biggest Indian starts Mumbai Indians' have produced, the number one ranked T20I bowler in the world as of now - no chance Mumbai would want to let go of Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah made his IPL debut in 2013 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. His first wicket of Virat Kohli, grabbed the instant attention of cricket fans across the country.
With the decline of Lasith Mallinga, Bumrah would be the perfect death over bowler for MI and the management shall ensure to not let go of him.

3. Hardik Pandya

Hardik shall be an obvious pick for the Mumbai Indians. He has been in amazing form this year and has proven himself in the international arena over and over.

His presence in the team would give a boost to all three departments. His hard hitting ability, handy medium-pace and electric fielding make him a perfect all-rounder, and the Mumbai Indians shall not miss the opportunity to retain him.

Cheers,
Sparsh

  1. Hardik pandya is not going to be retained. As he wants to know his actual value. His bro was sold to MI in 2017 at Rs 2 CR
